Membership
The membership committee is responsible for recruiting, engaging and retaining chapter members.

Committee members table at area events in Green, Rock and Lafayette counties.

Recruit chapter members to assist with tabling.

The committee welcomes new members who have joined through email welcome, chapter newsletter and adding them to the chapter’s listserv and facebook page.

SCWFU gives out 5 free memberships per year. Normally given to ag teachers, legislators, etc. but also available to chapter members in financial needs.
Ag Business
In need of connecting to Ag Business in our rural committees, this committee was formed to help address the needs of small to medium family farmers in our chapter’s counties. Issues that this committee plans to address include:

Identify and connect Ag Business Mentors with chapter members that need support

Create opportunities for “Beginning Farmers” to meet and share stories

Help family farms create cooperatives and alliances

Address ag business needs by steering them to resources and education to support their businesses
Communications
The work of the communications committee is to effectively and consistently communicate with the membership. Current Communications vehicles include:
- SCWFU Facebook page
- SCWFU Website www.scwfu.com
- SCWFU Newsletter / MailChimps sent out once or twice a month, as needed
- SCWFU Meeting Reminder Postcards sent out through WFU
- Press Releases are prepared and sent to the local media in Green, Rock and Lafayette Counties
- Monitors the Chapter’s email address and responds to messages.
Events and Fundraising
The purpose of the Events & Fundraising Committee is to create events that intrigue, involve, educate, and increase membership while raising money for the chapter.

Set up and run chapter events.

Coordinate WFU Convention gift basket for silent auction
Policy & Convention
Policy is at the heart of our chapter’s activities to ensure our voice is heard at the state and national levels. The policy committee meets to:
- Review member’s policy ideas in committee
- Craft policies Special Orders of Business (SOBs) for membership to give feedback and approve at the annual meeting to be brought forth at the state’s annual convention.
- Facilitating the chapter’s presence at the Annual State Convention including delegate recruitment, car pools, delegate validation form, ensuring registration deadlines, etc.
